Horse Riding

Here at Drummindoo we have been offering horse riding since 1979 and we have welcomed riders from many parts of the world. Our horses and ponies, which are chosen for their temperament and suitability include Connemara Ponies, Irish Draughts, Irish Sport Horses and Irish Cobs. Great care is taken to match you with the right horse and whether you are a complete beginner to horse riding or an experienced rider you will have a unique experience with us. Our centre is approved by the Association of Irish Riding Establishments and the Irish Tourist Board.

We cater for:

  • Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Riders
  • Special Needs Riders
  • Nervous Riders
  • Private Individuals, Families and Groups

Please note that we have an upper weight limit of 90 kgs (200 lbs). Hard hats and boots are supplied and must be worn to comply with insurance regulations. Minimum age for participation is 4 years old.

Services

Riding Lessons

Horse riding lessons are available with a qualified instructor on a private or semi-private basis (2-4 people). You will also learn about horse care and handling including health basics, safety and the proper use of equipment. Private lessons are a great way to build confidence and learn at your own pace. We aim to help you achieve your goals in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. Lessons are available Monday to Saturday and can be scheduled to suit you ie. after school or work. ​​

Services

Trekking

After an introduction to the basics of horse riding we will take you on a gentle tour of the local countryside or should the weather be unsuitable there is an indoor arena on site where you will have the opportunity to learn more about riding and improve your skills. The more experienced rider also has the option to ride on our the all-weather canter track.

Trekking is available Monday to Saturday from Easter to October and must be booked in advance.
